Srilanka registered a 16 runs victory over Pakistan here in the Asia Cup 2010 opener. The boom boom Afridi scored a blistering 109 off 76 balls with 8 fours and 7 huge sixes in the second innings. But his brilliant innings couldn't help Pakistan manage a victory here. Malinga bowled brilliantly to take 5 wickets giving away just 34 runs of his 10 overs quota.
Batting first Srilanka scored a reasonable total of 242 with Anjelo Matthews and Jayawardene scored half centuries each. Sangakkara scored a good 42. Shoaib Akhtar made a good come back with 3 wickets for 41 in 10 overs.
