CSK Vs RCB - 1st playoff
Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium hosts the 1st playoff between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. 2nd playoff will be played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. Winner of 1st playoff gets a direct entry into the finals. Loser of 1st playoff doesn't get eliminated but gets a chance to play against winner of 2nd playoff and then enter the final.
With this modified format, IPL 2011 has increased the excitement amongst the cricket fans, that who would win today and make a direct entry into the finals. RCB with its roaring confidence looks favourites today. But CSK with its brilliant IPL history and being defending champions, won't let go the title from their hands. This makes the tussle interesting.
CSK has batting strength lined up with Hussey, Badrinath, Murali Vijay and Raina is full of reliability. They all have scored more than 300 runs this year in IPL. Dhoni's brave innings have been helpful many times. Bollinger, Ashwin and Bravo are good with bowling.
On the other hand, RCB is a bit more dependent on Gayle. But at the same time contributions from Kohli, de Villiers, Vettori, etc can't be written off.
