Just as I wrote yesterday that India has to push in hard to continue their supremacy and Day 1 exactly saw something which we expected. Indian bowlers dominated New Zealand batsmen after the delayed start due to rain.
Sreesanth did pretty well with his swing in the first spell to clinch the opening wickets. Ishant Sharma capitalised too by removing Vettori and Ross Taylor. At one moment New Zealand were 51 for 5. With only 56 overs play possible on day 1, New Zealand were 148 for 7 at stumps with Southee (7) and McCullum (34) were batting in. Sreesanth, Sharma and Ojha took 2 wickets each where as Bhajji got one of Ryder who scored 59.
Day 2 will unfold some surprises probably if Indian bowlers remove the remaining wickets quickly and Indian batsmen may dominate the Kiwis. Hopefully Rain God shows mercy for this test match and more than that we hope we can see a result in this match. Stay online!
