Indians were struggling hard but thanks to Raina's quickfire century. He scored 103 from just 112 balls. Somerset purely dominated Indian bowlers in first innings. The main contributors were Strauss (78), Suppiah (156), Compton (88) and Jones (51). For Somerset, Willoughby took 6 wickets and he was highly impressive.

Sachin Tendulkar, certainly a big name in cricket world, is now all set to join the Indian team to a tour to England. Sachin opted for a rest after IPL 2011. He didn't feature in the India tour to West Indies. Not to forget Sachin Tendulkar has 99 International centuries to his name which includes 48 from ODIs and 51 from Test matches.

The first test match begins from 21st July at the Lord's. This is the 2000th test match! And hence people are expecting Sachin to hit his 100th ton here at the Lord's. He can't find a better occasion and better venue that this. But when Sachin was asked about this, he said that the 100th century isn't weighing too much on his mind at this moment. He wants to embark on the tour with a feeling of enjoying it.

He added that World Cup victory was one of the most special moments of his life. About the England tour he said he won't be keen to play for records. He would love to do something to enhance the enjoyment rather than chasing records.

The stage is set for the final day of this Indian tour to West Indies. Day 5 thankfully has the sun shining bright and seems even God is interested to enjoy this interesting match. Day 4 has brought in many interesting probabilities. The fight back of Edwards and Chanderpaul have opened the door of possibilities for West Indies. Although they begin day 5 with a small lead and only 4 wickets in hand, but this pitch could be a real tester for Indian batsmen also.

Way things have begun on Day 5, it seems the battler Chanderpaul is in no mood to give up. If they are eyeing a lead of 150, even that could prove hard for India. Because West Indies bowlers also enjoy the pitch conditions of Windsor Park.

Harbhajan and company should strike hard to finish off West Indies innings at the earliest. Keeping in mind that this is day 5, India won't be thinking of chasing a target more than 175 in two sessions. So restricting the home team below that should be their first target.

Day 4 begins at Windsor Park with Indian batsmen providing an edge over West Indies. A lead of 104 runs on the West Indies pitches is appreciable. And still India can go ahead and scored another 100. MS Dhoni who was under a scanner for his rough patch in test cricket scored 65 not out and reached a landmark of 3000 test runs. He can now feel free to hit big ones on Day 4 and take India to somewhere around 400 runs.

Indians were in trouble at 18 for 2. But Laxman and Mukund anchored the innings with individual half centuries. Then came a good partnership between Dhoni and Raina. Raina scored 50 runs. India are into the driver's seat with 308 runs on the board.

It all depends on what role does the weather play in the remaining two days. If we are lucky enough to have full 6 sessions of play, a result looks certain. Probably India would bag this match to clinch the series 2-0

Two sides have this match in control! Rain and India! West Indies counter attacked but India proved superior and finished West Indies innings for 204 runs. Ishant Sharma continues his rocking form and takes his series wickets tally to 21. A strong contender for Man of the Series.

Harbhajan Singh reached the milestone of 400 test wickets yesterday when he clinched wickets of Sammy and Baugh. He is 3rd Indian bowler to reach this milestone and 11th bowler in the world. Munaf and Praveen helped Harbhajan and Ishant with their disciplined bowling.

We can have some kind of predictions for this match only if the weather stays clear. Rain has already spoiled 3 sessions in total so far. A result is still insight with three days to go. If India could post a big lead and bowl out West Indies cheaply; a win is possible. Some spirited bowling performance by home team today can make the match more interesting.

30 overs in the first session and 3.1 overs after lunch! This was the story of Day 1. India looked in the driver's seat with 3 wickets clinched before lunch. Ishant Sharma took 2 while Praveen Kumar took 1 wicket. Seasonal rains in West Indies are spoiling the cricket party at the newest Test cricket venue at Windsor Park.

Both the teams purely mean business as rain keeps interrupting the efforts. India eyes a 2-0 series win. The first ever 2-0 test series win in West Indies. At the same time, West Indies eyes a series levelling effort against the test champions.

Ishant continues to impress with his 18th wicket in this series. Munaf who replaced Mithun looks to impress the cricket world before India tours England later this July. At the mercy of rain, hopefully we can have full day's of play.

What does the Windsor Park track expect from Indian team? A change in batting line up or bowling line up? Indian batting has not performed as expected. Murali Vijay and Mukund form the opening pair but they have failed miserably to cope with the bounce and hence resulted in bad starts to the innings. In the middle order, Dhoni and Kohli need to click in this match. Badrinath may get a chance to play in this match replacing Vijay. In terms of bowling, Mithun can be replaced by Mishra. But as the Dominica track has a lot of bounce in it, Mishra can be overlooked for Munaf as he looks fit for this match.


Parthiv Patel is also a good option who can replace Mukund. Patel was impressive with his stroke play in ODI series. Harbhajan could manage just 5 wickets so far and he would love to end the series on a high note. Two more wickets and he would enter the 400 test wicket club. 


A win here would lead India to a first time ever ODI and Test series win in West Indies. This would be another feather in Dhoni's hat. So certainly India would love to dominate the home team right from the start. Keeping in mind the rain interruptions, a positive approach is much needed to cover the time that is lost due to rain.

India begins day 5 with an upper hand as they have good lead on the board. The only problem here is we are already into day 5 and will India have enough overs in hand after declaration. And when would the declaration come?


MS Dhoni might have a lead of around 320 in his mind to declare. But for that Indian batsmen have to change gears right from ball one! They should atleast have some 75 overs in hand to put enough pressure on West Indies batsman. Probably playing out the whole day for a draw won't be a big problem for the West Indies batsmen. But playing under the pressure would be a daunting task.


If sun shines bright whole day, we could see an exciting day's play. We could see some good resolute batting display and also we could see some inspiring winning effort from the bowling department. Although rain has spoiled the party till day 3, thanks to Ishant's career best bowling figures India still has an advantage. Certainly the lead over West Indies is nominal but Indian bowlers are good enough to put pressure on home team with a good lead on hand.

Ishant became the fifth youngest bowler to clinch 100 test wickets. In his test career of 33 matches, 6 for 55 on day 3 was his career best. On the other hand Samuels who is naturally an aggressive batsman, curbed his natural instincts and played a disciplined innings of 78.

Day 4 brings more excitement as just 2 days left and team that keeps its cool might clinch this test. Above all the weather should support the party now.

Mercy on us Rain Gods! Spare a cricket match again. This would be request of cricket fans today. They all need to have some cricketing fun. Day 2 brought disappointment in terms of amount of cricket played. Hardly 25 overs!

Team that could make the most out of it was India. So they continued having an upper hand. Sarwan and Bishoo struggled against Indian bowling. Edges were evident. Ultimately they gave up to Ishant Sharma. Praveen Kumar was unplayable but he didn't get any wicket.

Samuels and Chanderpaul spent a lot of time on pitch which helped their cause. They made it sure that they stick to the crease and don't lose any further wickets. They added very important 41 runs to the score. West Indies embarks on Day 3 with a deficit of 103 runs.
